Volunteer
The Theodore Roosevelt Center is glad to accept help from a worldwide network of volunteers in documenting and cataloging Theodore Roosevelt-related documents, photographs, cartoons, films and artifacts. If you have an interest in history and a good eye for detail, we’d love to have your help advancing this important and exciting project.
Our volunteers help make items available online by identifying creators, recipients, dates and titles of items. This Preliminary Metadata Entry allows materials to publish to the digital library and be searchable prior to staff assigning desriptions and subject headings to items
Volunteers will be invited to join the TRC on Basecamp, where they’ll be able to access resources, message boards, and more to help them in working on items. For a taste of what volunteering might be like, check out our training video on YouTube.
As we get more volunteers, we hope to be able to expand what the program does, including potentially the transcription of items.
If you’re able to volunteer, we’d love to be able to send you a thank-you gift and acknowledge you at our annual symposium! The thank you gift may be a tote bag, mug, or other TRC-branded item.
