The Theodore Roosevelt Center is located in Lowman Walton Hall on the historic hilltop campus of Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. We are open to the public and admission is FREE.

If you’re visiting Medora, we are just a 35-mile drive east on I-94!

In addition to the digital library, the Theodore Roosevelt Center has a physical exhibit gallery, research library, reading room, and workspaces. All are open to the public free of charge year-round (with seasonal hours). Our staff is on hand to greet you and answer questions.

The Fisher Industries Display Area hosts a rotating exhibit on topics related to the life and legacy of Theodore Roosevelt. Currently on display is an exhibition titled Theodore Roosevelt and the Navy, examining Roosevelt’s background in naval history, his crusade to build up the US Navy, and how the modern navy understands and celebrates his work today. 

The Stankard Research Library holds an extensive collection of books by and about Theodore Roosevelt from his own lifetime up to the present, as well as works by his contemporaries that influenced him. The Theodore Roosevelt Reading Room houses rare and signed works, as well as a working Amberola with a recording of Roosevelt’s own voice. Private workspaces are available for researchers with advance notice.
