President Roosevelt reports the details of his uncle James King Gracie’s funeral. Despite the inordinate amount of police inside and outside the church, a crank managed to sneak in. In a postscript, Roosevelt says he is enclosing two poems Nick and Archie Roosevelt wrote for him.

President Roosevelt received Laura d’Oremieulx Roosevelt’s letter and the book and looks forward to reading them. The family has missed Laura and her family at Oyster Bay. Roosevelt had archeologist Langdon Warner over, and thanks Laura for introducing him.

Theodore Roosevelt writes his son Kermit from his trip to Arizona with Archie and Quentin Roosevelt. He says he agrees with Kermit tearing up the two checks from him as long as he did not need them. He says Kermit will see him and Mother in a month. Roosevelt describes the time he is spending in the Arizona desert.

Theodore Roosevelt writes his son Kermit from his trip to the Grand Canyon with Archie and Quentin Roosevelt. He wants to know if Kermit ever received the checks he sent for $200 and said he enjoyed Kermit’s last letter so much he shared it with Archie, Quentin and Nick Roosevelt. He describes cougar hunting on the trip and writing speeches for his South American trip. He does not know if he will bring Mother on the trip to South America.

Theodore Roosevelt writes his son Kermit to say he is sending him another check for $200 and inquires if he received the first check. He says all the family has been visiting and gives updates on their lives. He details his plans to visit Kermit in Sao Paulo and says that he, Archie and Quentin Roosevelt are getting ready for their trip to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Roosevelt adds he has three books finished and ready to be published.

Theodore Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit regarding plans for Ethel Roosevelt’s wedding and traveling to Arizona with Archie and Quentin Roosevelt. He includes an Edith Thomas poem in the letter as well.

Theodore Roosevelt writes his son Kermit to discuss the 1912 presidential election results and beating William H. Taft. He also discusses career plans and how he does not want to work for money’s sake but to work for work’s sake, doing things that really interest him.

President Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit telling him to study hard and play football as well. Roosevelt met with the Rector and is sorry that the Rector and Kermit did not hit it off. Roosevelt feels the next years of his presidency will be difficult and hopes to have a couple days to relax with Edith before heading back to Washington. He ends by updating events with Archie and Quentin.

President Roosevelt says he and Edith miss Kermit Roosevelt. Roosevelt has been very busy and will continue to be so until after the election. Joe Wilmer visited and had dinner with the Archbishop of Canterbury. Roosevelt also adds that Quentin got a goat and Nicholas Roosevelt is visiting with Archie.

Roosevelt details some of his plans for his upcoming African safari, and asks if it would be possible to meet in Naples. Roosevelt describes a camping trip he took with “all of the younger children.” Roosevelt believes William H. Taft will be elected president.
