Kelly Brown – The Roosevelt Men in World War I
Originally posted to the TR Center blog on August 31, 2021.
The final years of Theodore Roosevelt’s life were dominated by the brewing conflict in Europe, in which all four of his sons would eventually serve. Roosevelt himself championed American involvement from the early days of the war and opposed the continued neutrality of the Wilson administration – first in private, and eventually in public.
This timeline, created by intern Kelly Brown, traces Roosevelt’s support for the war and his sons’ involvement in it. The digital exhibit was built using the tool TimelineJS, and features historical resources from the Theodore Roosevelt Center’s Digital Library, including letters to family members and diplomats overseas.
