John George Alexander Leishman updates Elihu Root on the situation regarding his becoming an ambassador in Turkey. There has been some reluctance from the Sultan and the European powers at having the embassy “forced upon him,” but Leishman is cautiously positive about his prospects at being accepted and presenting his credentials soon.
