This cartoon satirizes the Panama Canal dispute. “The National Motto Gallery” shows a man holding a sign “We’ll Dig the Ditch or Bust”, Uncle Sam saying “One of the best in the bunch,” and a teddy bear, with tools, saying “You bet!”
