Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roosevelt writes that the political situation is uncertain; while President William McKinley would like to avoid war, if possible, there is a fair chance it will happen. Roosevelt also asks Douglas Robinson to inform Corinne Roosevelt Robinson that Edith Roosevelt’s health is very slowly improving.
