Analostan, later called Theodore Roosevelt Island, sits in the middle of the Potomac River. Several tall ships are anchored in the river and at the Georgetown waterfront. The Alexandria Aqueduct Bridge, in its second incarnation as a canal and roadway, is visible in the foreground.
