President Roosevelt updates Ernest Hamlin Abbott on changes in the arbitration treaties and instructs him to show the letter to his father, Lyman Abbott. Roosevelt remains of the opinion that if an amendment like the one he mentions is added to the treaty he should just withdraw the treaty, as it would be a sham.
