Ted Roosevelt thanks John Campbell Greenway for all he has done for him. President Roosevelt is in favor of Ted working with Greenway. He hopes to complete college this year. Ted saw in the newspaper that a game warden was supposedly coming to arrest him for hunting with Greenway without a license.

Ted Roosevelt has been working hard for several weeks at a carpet manufacturing business. He finds the work interesting and is not missing his college days. President Roosevelt seems excited for his upcoming African safari and Ted believes he will enjoy it. Ted cast his first presidential vote for William H. Taft. The election was very important for business and Taft secured a sweeping victory.

Ted Roosevelt will be unable to visit John Campbell Greenway in the fall as he has been offered a position at a carpet manufacturing firm. President Roosevelt can speak of nothing but his African safari.

Ted Roosevelt will be unable to visit as he has already accepted an invitation to visit some college friends in Colorado. Everything is “much as usual” at college and Roosevelt recounts some recent sporting events. After college, he hopes to work for a railroad in the West.

The navy is struggling with a lack of funding and the intelligence department cannot retain paid agents. Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roosevelt asks if John Campbell Greenway would be interested in serving as a volunteer agent to help with intelligence gathering.

He has been considering positions and wants to find work that really interests him. President Roosevelt is very busy with legislation and the upcoming convention. College football practice has started and Ted wants “one more chance at the old game.”

Governor Roosevelt will look after John T. McCutcheon’s “family-in-law” when they visit the Philippines. Roosevelt is fond of Isabella Greenway but she is a traditional Democrat with a “head of wood politically.” He sends his best to Greenway.

Theodore Roosevelt was pleased to hear that John T. McCutcheon will be participating in the summer military camp. He believes the work will be valuable and a first step in developing a “comprehensive reserve system.”
