Wentz asks Roosevelt to give a speech at the upcoming New York State Federation of Women’s Clubs program in November, where Woodrow Wilson will likely speak for the Democrats. Wentz is confident that women will be influential during the next election. Wentz invites Roosevelt to attend a Women’s Republican Club luncheon in February. She also invites Roosevelt to stay at her home in Beacon Hill, Massachusetts.

Theodore Roosevelt agrees with the sentiments expressed by Mary Pattinson, namely the need for the Progressive Party to develop new methods, distinct from the old Republican and Democratic party. The Progressive party should continue to advocate for civic education and work to create a coalition of both men and women. Roosevelt tells Pattinson that he will pass her letter along to the rest of the party.

Theodore Roosevelt thanks Millicent Garrett Fawcett for her letter. Roosevelt believes that the Progressive campaign helped women’s suffrage by having women work equally with the men in the campaign. If he had won the presidency, he would have given women positions in the administration, even in his cabinet. He is also amused with the voting trends in suffrage states.

Earl Grey, Governor General of Canada, speaks to the Women’s Canadian Club about raising the funds to erect a “colossal statue of the Angel of Welcome and Peace” on the Plains of Abraham to welcome emigrants to Canada. This should be done to celebrate the tricentennial of the founding of Quebec. Describing Canada’s history, Grey compares the United States’ dedication to erecting patriotic monuments and preserving its past to the lack of enthusiasm in doing the same in Canada.

Letter from Mrs. Morris Weissberger to Theodore Roosevelt

Mrs. Morris Weissberger begs President Roosevelt for bodily protection for her husband during the upcoming primary election. Her husband is a lifelong Republican and captain of a voting district where his life has been threatened because he has broken away from the Odell organization and has succeeded in carrying the district for the Republicans. Mrs. Weissberger assures Roosevelt that they will be able to carry the district if they have the necessary protection.
