Wiener Männergesang-Verein

Ambassador Francis acknowledges that William Loeb will arrange the Wiener Männergesang-Verein’s visit to the White House for President Roosevelt and First Edith Lady Roosevelt. Francis has informed Herman Schneiderhan, the society’s president, of the visit and Schneirderhan will telegraph Loeb upon their arrival in New York. Francis also reiterates the quality of the society’s performances and encourages Loeb to bring his wife for the performance at the White House.

Francis saw their performance last evening with Count Agenor Goluchowski and Count Botho Graf von Wedel, which was wonderful. He hopes to soon hear from Loeb that President Roosevelt and First Lady Edith Roosevelt will receive the society at the White House before they appear before American audiences.

Although Hubert Cillis, president of the Deutsche Liederkranz in New York City, thinks the ship may not arrive on time, Kraemer is reassured by the captain’s confidence of their arrival and believes the choir will make the originally planned meeting with Roosevelt.
