President Theodore Roosevelt stands on a reviewing stand, holding hat in raised right hand as a large group of capitalists, industrialists, and financiers wearing the tattered clothing of tramps, march past the stand. Some carry placards with such statements as: “Irrigate the Trusts,” “No place to go but the Waldorf,” “We want the earth,” “Free quick lunches,” “Pity the poor banker,” “Dividends or we perish.” At the front of the group, J. P. Morgan carries a wooden bucket labeled “The full water pail.” Caption: “Aggregated wealth largely represented among Parker’s Supporters”–New York Tribune.

Puck stands on a stage speaking to wealthy philanthropists. From left: an empty seat “reserved for Russell Sage,” Mrs. Leland Stanford, Miss [Helen Miller?] Gould, John D Rockefeller Jr., Andrew Carnegie, Vanderbilt [William K., by resemblance], [and] J. P. Morgan.” Puck is displaying a “Plan for model tenement” and pointing to a view of current tenement housing conditions projected on a magic-lantern screen on the stage. In the “Christmas sermon,” Puck is entreating that when these generous millionaires are performing their philanthropy, they not only endow schools and libraries, which benefit “those that already have much,” but also “give something to those who have less than nothing.”

John P. M. Richards thanks Jacob A. Riis for the book. Richards goes on to reflect about President Roosevelt and the rest of the Roosevelt family, from childhood memories of Theodore Roosevelt Sr. visiting his grandfather’s shop to purchase hunting equipment to seeing the president’s recent speech in Spokane, Washington.

A late summer scene at Newport, Rhode Island, exhibits a carnival atmosphere, with food vendors, merry-go-round, and entertainment at the “Marble House Casino,” and “The ‘Breakers’ Coolest Pleasure Resort in Newport.” Caption: The excursionists are moving on the town; heavy gains are reported, and it is feared they will take possession in the above manner at an early day.

A trial is taking place at the U.S. Supreme Court where the regular justices have been replaced by hayseed justices. In the foreground is a “Waiting Pen for Gold Bugs and Millionaires” where “W. Rockefeller, J. Rockefeller, J. P. Morgan, Astor, Sage, Vanderbilt, [and] Gould” are waiting. Caption: If the silverites ever get a chance to put their populistic and revolutionary platform into force.

Field, dressed as a woman, sits on a safe next to the pole. Sitting on a bench to the left are Chauncey M. Depew playing cymbals labeled “Monopolist Music” and Whitelaw Reid playing a horn labeled “Tribune.” Behind them is William M. Evarts looking out a window in a building labeled “Millionaires Snug Harbor,” and in the background is a “Monopoly Mill” labeled “Stocks” and “U. S. Bonds.” Lambs gambol nearby. Includes verse.
