President Roosevelt directs the Acting Secretary of State to make no change in Coburg, Germany. Former Consul General Oliver J. D. Hughes will not receive any further consideration from the State Department. The attacks on Henry D. Saylor were considered at the time of his appointment to that post and require no further investigation.

President Roosevelt received the editorial setting forth charges against Henry D. Saylor. He explains that the charges were investigated thoroughly when Saylor was first appointed and Saylor has the support of several prominent people. Roosevelt does not see any reason to take additional action on the matter.
