He describes Ethel Roosevelt and Richard Derby’s wedding as the “nicest and most satisfying marriage.” Roosevelt sent the Tucker children two “treasures.” Ted Roosevelt stayed overnight on Saturday but Eleanor Butler Roosevelt, exhausted from the wedding and taking care of Grace Green Roosevelt, had to remain at home.

Theodore Roosevelt describes Christmas with the family; he especially enjoyed his grandchildren’s first Christmas festivities. Roosevelt wishes that William Sheffield Cowles were coming to see them, but he is happy that Quentin Roosevelt is going to visit the Cowles house. Roosevelt himself will probably visit in the spring.

Theodore Roosevelt writes to Anna Roosevelt Cowles to explain he has written to Theodore Roosevelt Jr., and everything went as well as possible with Eleanor Butler Alexander Roosevelt, who has given birth to her first child, Grace Green Roosevelt. Roosevelt received a letter from Grace Green Alexander, who told him that mother and child are doing well. Roosevelt and Edith Roosevelt are happy to be grandparents. Roosevelt is glad that Cowles’s doctor has encouraged her to go back to Mount Clemens. He is looking forward to her visit in the fall.
