Asahi Ikeda tells Theodore Roosevelt he misses Roosevelt a great deal. After leaving America Ikeda traveled the world and returned home where he changed his name to Ikeda and began working for a successful Japanese company. Ikeda asks for a picture of Roosevelt to hang in his room.

Endicott Peabody invites Theodore Roosevelt to stay at Groton School for the Thanksgiving Holiday with his family. Peabody will have Roosevelt speak once formally, but hopes to allow boys to listen to his conversations. Peabody also addresses Roosevelt’s previous letter about Groton School being criticized.

Theodore Roosevelt appreciated Captain Mahan’s letter, and enjoyed reading his piece on the Panama Canal in The Century. Roosevelt comments on how he views the international situation, saying that he believes that the United States and Great Britain can negotiate and cooperate well, but that he feels differently towards Germany and Japan.

Obituary of Archibald B. Roosevelt, son of Theodore Roosevelt, written by his cousin P. James Roosevelt. He discusses Archibald’s childhood antics in the White House with his brother Quentin and his education at various schools. He details his service in both world wars and how he earned his military decorations, and he examines Archibald’s career in finance in New York and Florida and discusses his charitable and volunteer work, especially in conservation, most notably with the Boone & Crockett Club. The obituary includes a poem written by Archibald, “Canada Geese.”
Four photographs of Archibald Roosevelt accompany the obituary: one shows him as a young man; another shows him and his brother Quentin training for service in World War I; another shows him and his wife Grace Stackpole Lockwood Roosevelt on horseback; and the last one shows him holding one of his father’s hunting rifles.
