Letter from Houghton Mifflin Company to Theodore Roosevelt
Houghton Mifflin has been approached by Gebbie & Company and asked to allow two of their copyrighted works by President Roosevelt to be included in a complete edition of Roosevelt’s works. Houghton Mifflin wants to make sure that Gebbie & Company has Roosevelt’s permission for this proposed publication before proceeding. Gebbie & Company will pay $2,500 for the rights, and this money will be split between Houghton Mifflin and President Roosevelt.
