Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to Ronald Storrs
Theodore Roosevelt writes to Ronald Storrs and will pass his regards on to Kermit, Mrs. Roosevelt, and Ethel. He regrets that the editors at The Outlook did not choose Storrs’ article and illustrations while noting that he has no say in the running of the magazine. Roosevelt offers to put the article before other magazines, but he also emphasizes that the only thing he can do is bring the article to the attention of the editors. In fact, he has put “twenty or thirty articles before The Outlook and other magazines, and not one has been accepted.” His concern is that editors do not look well upon articles that have the appearance of favoritism. Roosevelt is returning the article and illustrations and wishes Storrs well.
