President Roosevelt has invited Herman A. Metz to the Conference on the Care of Dependent Children instead of Vicar General Mooney’s suggestion, Daniel C. Potter. Metz and Potter work in the same department, so Roosevelt hopes Mooney understands his decision to only invite Metz.

President Roosevelt thanks Bishop Greer for the letter, and says that he has passed along Greer’s question to New York City Comptroller of Currency Herman A. Metz. Dr. Daniel C. Potter serves under Metz, so Roosevelt does not think it would be advisable to ask Potter as well.

President Roosevelt has already invited a number of the men Thomas M. Mulry suggested to invite to the Conference on Dependent Children. Roosevelt has sent out invitations to Mulry’s other suggestions, with the exception of Daniel C. Potter and some members of Jewish charities. Roosevelt says he has invited others who are more connected to children’s work instead.
