Letter from Lawrence Fraher to Theodore Roosevelt

Letter from Lawrence Fraher to Theodore Roosevelt

Lawrence Fraher reminds Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt of the incident on Boston Common on September 27, 1906, when, as a patrolman, he intervened on behalf of Roosevelt and his friend Shaun Kelly from Officer Murphy. As a result, his nose was broken, and his head was injured. He explains how he had to retire from the police force due to lasting health effects stemming from his injuries. Fraher asks Roosevelt to help him find employment to support his widowed mother, Ellen Fraher.
