George Edward Graham writes William Loeb that the New York Herald is accusing the Roosevelt Home Club of stealing from subscriptions that were to be used to purchase President Roosevelt’s childhood home. Graham assures Loeb that this is not true, but the club is facing financial difficulties and will likely have to abandon the project.

George Edward Graham writes to President Roosevelt regarding the Roosevelt Home Club and the purchase of the Roosevelt homestead. The Club’s aim is to restore the home to the condition it was in when Roosevelt was born. Graham lists the names of individuals who are contributing to the objectives and acknowledges Roosevelt’s stance on the issue.

The National Park Service and Theodore Roosevelt Association invite the recipient to a reception at the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site to celebrate the anniversary of Roosevelt’s birth and the opening of newly restored period rooms. There will be a special preview performance of James Whitmore in “Bully” prior to the reception. The cover of the invitation features an illustration of the Birthplace site as of 1923, when it first opened to the public.

The report lists the various speakers at the symposium and dinner, and recognizes the winners of various TRA sponsored awards, including a book award, public speaking contest, and a special award to comedian Conan O’Brien. Thirteen photographs and two illustrations accompany the text which is followed by a thirteen page photo album of seventy-eight color photographs of the various speakers, guests, and dignitaries at the meeting and dinner.

Report on the 2014 annual meeting of the Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) held in New York City. The report covers the events of the weekend, highlighting the various authors and speakers in attendance, and it notes the conferring of four TRA awards, including the annual Bertha B. Rose Award and USS Theodore Roosevelt Junior Officer Leadership Award. The TRA also gave awards to documentary filmmaker Ken Burns and the former Superintendent of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Valerie Naylor.
Eleven color photographs accompany the text which is followed by a fourteen page album of eighty-four color photographs of the meeting venues, speakers, guests, and award winners.

History of the Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) that traces the TRA back to the days following the death of Theodore Roosevelt in January 1919. The present day TRA came into being in 1956 following the merger of three Roosevelt memorial organizations. The history notes the TRA’s work in securing historic sites related to the life of Roosevelt, such as his birthplace and home, and the acquisition of additional sites to serve as memorials. It also looks at efforts to preserve historic documents about Roosevelt, and it notes the work of the TRA’s public speaking contests and police awards.
The second page of the article features two photographs from the TRA’s meeting at the White House with President Ronald Reagan on October 27, 1982.

Brown notes that an exhibit on the 1912 campaign will appear at the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site in New York City, and he highlights the TRA’s work in updating the museum onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the headquarters of the NCAA in Indianapolis, Indiana. Brown also lists some of the work undertaken by regional chapters of the TRA and trips planned for its members to Cuba and Panama. A photograph of Brown as a boy dressed as a cowboy supplements the text.
