A report on the boundaries and conditions at the newly-created Sullys Hill National Park. The park is visited by many North Dakotans, but acting superintendent Charles L. Davis requests a $6,000 appropriation to make recommended improvements.

Charles L. Davis, superintendent of Sullys Hill National Park, encloses for George W. H. Davis a report from Secretary of the Interior Ethan Allen Hitchcock which will shed light on the park’s status. Davis notes that Hitchcock did not request appropriation for the park. He believes that the North Dakota delegation should demonstrate more interest in the park and makes the case for the park’s importance. It has geological and historical significance, and with the right financial support it could become a popular recreation site for North Dakotans.

Representative Lemke writes to James B. Connolly regarding the National Park Service’s attempts to acquire the Elkhorn Ranch site. Lemke does not believe that Congress will make appropriations to purchase the site at the valuation given by H. A. Mackoff. He suggests that the Elkhorn Ranch might need to be reconstructed on federal land elsewhere.
