President Roosevelt develops his remarks around the biblical verses, “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22), and “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11). He discusses the importance of righteousness in developing young men into good American citizens.
