Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to W. P. Potter

President Roosevelt has Pennsylvania State Supreme Court Justice Potter’s letter of October 28. Roosevelt thinks more people want trust laws considered than currency reform laws, and Roosevelt is unable to find agreement regarding currency reform. Until he can find consensus, Roosevelt does not want to call a special session.

Telegram from William H. Taft to Elihu Root

Governor Taft reviews monetary issues in the Philippines and asks a question about the Coinage Law. He is concerned about losing Mr. Holm, Chief of the Bureau of Coast Guard, Transportation, and Lighthouses. Holm would like to stay and his supervision of the construction of the marine railway dock is important to the government.
