Letter from William J. Connell to Theodore Roosevelt

Letter from William J. Connell to Theodore Roosevelt

Former Congressman Connell supports his son’s application to be consul in Juarez, Mexico. He accuses the current incumbent of conducting anti-Republican activities in El Paso, Texas. He mentions that the incumbent, Charles Kendricks bought a Democratic paper that has been publishing anti-Roosevelt and anti-Republican pieces. Although Kendricks denies being against the Republicans, he has done nothing to stop the paper from publishing in this manner. Connell says that his son, Ralph Connell, is well-suited for the position.
