Letter from Whitelaw Reid to Theodore Roosevelt
Whitelaw Reid suggests an increase in salaries for the United States Judiciary. Reid is aware of the political implications of recommending an increase on the eve of a campaign, but believes that the treatment of United States judges is so “mean as to be scandalous.”
