President Roosevelt’s secretary sends Roosevelt’s regrets that he cannot accept the invitation of the Japan Society of New York.

On behalf of the Japanese Association of Fresno, J. R. Fukushima welcomes Theodore Roosevelt to the west, and expresses the association’s regret that Roosevelt will not be able to visit Fresno during his present tour. Fukushima sends Roosevelt a picture of the parade float which the association made for the 1910 Independence Day celebrations, as well as newspaper clippings about the event.
