Vice President Fairbanks reports to President Roosevelt that the National Irrigation Congress was successful and assures him that one of his best presidential legacies will be his efforts on behalf of irrigation. As he passed through Chicago, Fairbanks was asked by Cook County Commissioner Edward Jackson Brundage and the president of the Hamilton Club to attend an upcoming function in Roosevelt’s stead; he will accept if the club is able to reschedule the banquet.
