President Roosevelt writes his son Kermit to tell him he hopes Robert Munro-Ferguson is on the road to recovery and that Aunt Corinne Robinson said Kermit was a comfort to her. A man sent Roosevelt a carved pipe he is keeping for Kermit. He says Ted Roosevelt is visiting and Roosevelt cannot believe Kermit did not get into the Sphynx Club at Harvard because he is going to Africa.

Theodore Roosevelt writes to Kermit Roosevelt to say he has sent gifts for the children to their mother, Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt, and to discuss the mountain lion cub that is the camp mascot and the photographers that have been at camp.

Theodore Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit and daughter-in-law Belle to thank them for their Christmas present and describes the Christmas he spent with the children and grandchildren. Roosevelt encloses a letter from former Rough Rider Robert Harry Munro Ferguson. Roosevelt complains about a Thanksgiving address at Groton School by Guy Ayrault where he likened President Woodrow Wilson to Christ. Roosevelt closes by saying his horse rolled over on him but he suffered no injuries.

Theodore Roosevelt writes his son Kermit to give him updates on members of the family and thank him for gifts he and his wife Belle sent. Roosevelt says he has received many interesting letters and he would send them to Kermit but fears they will get lost. Roosevelt discusses making a speech at the Opera House to raise money for the unemployed and notes his fondness for Grace Vanderbilt. Roosevelt adds that he has had a small bout of fever.

President Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit to say he is glad Kermit liked his message. Roosevelt believes it will help Secretary of War Taft secure the Republican presidential nomination. He adds that he is sending Kermit a new edition of Outdoor Pastimes of an American Hunter because there is a picture of Kermit jumping a stone wall. Roosevelt talks about a visit from the Rector of Groton School and Mrs. Peabody. He closes by saying a Chippewa Indian gave him a council pipe and bead belt he will hold for Kermit.

President Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit to report on Ethel’s nose operation and some lovely rides he has had with Edith. He ends by saying there has been trouble in New York financial circles that has effected other parts of the country, and he is being blamed.

President Roosevelt writes his son Kermit to say his travel plans to Harvard and Groton have leaked out, and mentions an article he read. Roosevelt also describes going for horseback rides through the snow, as well as a gift some sailors from the Louisiana gave to Mother. He adds that San Francisco mayor Eugene Schmitz and the school board have arrived to discuss letting Japanese children into their schools. Kermit appears to have taken notes on the back of the envelope.

President Roosevelt writes to his son Kermit and says it was nice of Kermit to send flowers to the Higginson funeral. Roosevelt notes he received a pin from some Oklahoma ranchmen. Roosevelt favors a lock canal in Panama, but orders Kermit not to let anyone get a hold of the letter from chief engineer John Stevens to Isthmian Canal Commissioner Theodore Shonts on the subject. Roosevelt closes by saying wedding presents are arriving for Alice Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt writes that he looks forward to the moose horn being sent by Victor Grant Smith. Roosevelt also writes that Smith led a life that is characteristic of a certain “phase of American life.” Smith notes at the bottom of the letter that in return Roosevelt sent him an oil painting.

Francisco Pascasio Moreno writes that he is unable to see Theodore Roosevelt off on his trip. He praises Roosevelt and says he is sending items to Sagamore Hill for Roosevelt and Kermit Roosevelt.
