Ambassador Takahira informs Secretary of State Hay that Sadanaru Fushimi, and not Prince Arisugawa no Miya Takehito, will be visiting the United States to send President Roosevelt good wishes from the Emperor.

Secretary of State John Hay has instructed Acting Secretary of State Adee to send President Roosevelt the enclosed note from the Japanese Minister Kentaro Kaneko, stating that Prince Sadanaru Fushimi is visiting the United States in place of Prince Arisugawa no Miya Takehito, who is ill.
