Miles A. DeGraff thanks Theodore Roosevelt for sending his portrait as part of his Methodist Episcopal Church Fair fundraiser. He recounts a situation where both himself and a community member bought the portrait, with the latter returning the portrait after learning it was already bought. However, she would not accept her money back unless DeGraff could somehow secure a second portrait. DeGraff then awkwardly asks Roosevelt for another portrait if he is willing to help solve this dilemma.
