Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to James R. Sheffield
President Roosevelt is pleased to have played a part in the settlement of the Anthracite Coal Strike and had not heard of the incidents of cheering in the French Chamber of Deputies and British House of Commons. Roosevelt found some of the “Wall Street men” to be “insane in their opposition” to his actions.
