President Roosevelt tells his son Ted about house guests of Ethel Roosevelt named Evelyn Irvine and Frank Roach. President Roosevelt describes Ethel’s fourth dance and dinner where she danced the whole night through and thoroughly enjoyed herself. President Roosevelt is glad that Ted is enjoying his work.

Assemblyman Roosevelt was glad to hear from H. D. Minot and expects to see him at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, this summer. Roosevelt intends to call his daughter Alice by the name Lee as, after the death of his wife Alice Lee Roosevelt, he could not have another, “not even her own child, bear her name.”

President Roosevelt writes his wife Edith in praise of their daughter Ethel Roosevelt and how she mothers her younger brothers. He describes a “scramble” he took with the children and meeting with senators who came on “every conceivable errand.”
