Historian Chester L. Brooks is forwarding the microfilm of military records. He believes that Colonel David Sloane Stanley’s memoirs are valuable to North Dakota and Montana history, particularly the 1873 letters to Stanley’s wife. The recorder is working well and Brooks has plans to record “old timers.”

Dana Wright has obtained a “Johnson-Anders write up” of the Custer Trail of 1874 and disagrees with several aspects of the map. He also has microfilm of Sibley and Custer records but was unable to view it due to a malfunctioning microfilm viewer.
