In a post script, President Roosevelt requests a report on the military’s peacetime marching practices. Roosevelt believes that the troops should march exactly as they do in wartime.

President Roosevelt forwards the deed for a piece of property in Oyster Bay, where he plans to build a boathouse, bathhouse, and dock. He offers again to pay Anna Roosevelt Cowles and William Sheffield Cowles for the space, and updates her on the people who are visiting.

Governor Taft reviews monetary issues in the Philippines and asks a question about the Coinage Law. He is concerned about losing Mr. Holm, Chief of the Bureau of Coast Guard, Transportation, and Lighthouses. Holm would like to stay and his supervision of the construction of the marine railway dock is important to the government.
