Kenneth M. Ellis tells J. S. Cullinan’s secretary that he had problems contacting Cullinan and has moved forward by setting up his field staff in Rapid City, South Dakota. He has kept Fred W. Sargent and John A. Boland apprised of his activities. Ellis has no intention of requesting anything from Cullinan.

Fred W. Sargent urges Kenneth M. Ellis to take up the criticisms contained in J. S. Cullinan’s letter. Cullinan should be assured of Ellis’s intention to comply with the terms of the contract. To move forward, it is imperative that the pageant have the full approval from Cullinan and the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society of the Blank Hills.
