Representative Raker has heard that Director of the National Park Service Mather was unable to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park during his first trip through California. He hopes that Mather will be able to visit the park in October, as it will be an ideal time to do so, and his constituents greatly desire such a visit. A. L. Conard, Chairman of the Committee for the improvement of the Lassen Volcanic National Park, would particularly like to speak with Mather. Raker feels that such a visit would help enhance Mather’s future presentations to the Committee on Appropriations as he continues seeking funding for the park.

Director of the National Park Service Mather would be glad to take Representative Raker’s suggestion to meet with Arthur L. Conard regarding Lassen Volcanic National Park when he is next in California. He is not sure, however, if this will be as soon as October, as there is pressing national park business that will keep him in Washington for the present.
