Ralph E. Samuel of the Association of Collegiate Progressive Clubs writes a form letter outlining the Progressive Party’s plans for undergraduate clubs at colleges throughout the United States. In this particular letter, Samuel encourages the establishment of a club at Rutgers College, identifying Professor H. R. Lewis as a progressive on the campus. Theodore Roosevelt reached Cambridge, Massachusetts, in “capital health and spirits.” He officiated at the athletic meeting and joined the Porcellian Club. The Sunday school was disorganized but the boys were happy to see him. Roosevelt would like Elliott Roosevelt to send the number for the shoemaker on Broadway.

William Michael Byrne believes that President Roosevelt’s administration has the potential for a “general Revival of Letters,” but only if the people respond to Roosevelt’s example. Byrne has started an organization with this revival in mind for the law students in Wilmington, Delaware. He requests a commendation from Roosevelt to promote the organization.
