Letter from George F. Lee to Theodore Roosevelt

George F. Lee owns and operates a small coal mine, part of which is currently on fire. Lee attempted to make a deal with John Mitchell that would allow the striking coal miners to work in order to save the property and the miners’ future livelihood. A conclusion could not be reached and Lee would like President Roosevelt to understand the principles of the organization as led by Mitchell.
