President Roosevelt has received a letter from F. N. Robinson relating to an article Roosevelt wrote hoping reach the “laymen” who would not be inclined to read the writings of specialists. He feels that many students will likely not study Celtic languages, but feels Celtic literature should be taught at universities citing the value of the Norse Sagas.

President Roosevelt is unable to accept Frank Andrew Munsey’s request to write an article about populating an empire, because the subject is too big and he does not have time for it. Roosevelt notes that he has been unable to complete a “light article” on Celtic literature that he has promised to another friend.

President Roosevelt is pleased about what Maurice Francis Egan said about him as a “literary man” and talks about his ambition to write something about Celtic sagas. He plans to discuss the topic with Egan when they meet, including if Roosevelt wrote something next summer where he ought to publish it.
