Theodore Roosevelt thanks W. E. Easton for his letter and his work on the campaign in California. Roosevelt also likes Easton’s speech and is glad that the “colored voters” in California “stood so solidly for us in this fight.” Roosevelt wants a square deal for all citizens no matter their color.
