Ambrose who died shortly before he was scheduled to appear at the annual meeting of the Theodore Roosevelt Association in October 2002. Roosevelt notes some of the many topics Ambrose studied and wrote about, and he highlights Ambrose’s generosity, especially to the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans which Ambrose founded.
