President Roosevelt is glad that Alfred Elliot Howell was able to see Clive Metcalfe. Roosevelt is pleased to hear Howell agree with him on the matter. “The standpat Republicans are at sea, and I wish the Wilson and Bryan Democrats were in the Irish Sea.” Roosevelt has forwarded Howell’s letter to Perkins.
