In this edition of “News and Notes,” John A. Gable notes the most recent publications on Theodore Roosevelt, quotes extensively from a news release from the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site about a children’s play, Teddy Roosevelt, performed there, and details the workings and the results of the annual Theodore Roosevelt Public Speaking Contest for the New York City public high schools. He also gives a brief history of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Theodore Roosevelt Award and notes some of the past winners as well as the winner of the “Teddy” for 1981, Art Linkletter.
