Although President Roosevelt is glad that Charles Fletcher Lummis has gotten the Southwest Society of the Archaeological Institute of America “in proper shape,” he wonders if, as President, his honorary membership should be free.

Charles Fletcher Lummis wishes President Roosevelt “Good Hunting” while he is in Africa, and hopes to give him “a lot of good stuff” from his collection on Spanish America once he gets back. Lately, Lummis has been receiving “nice reminders” from those involved in the Apache Wars. Lummis attaches a signed photograph of himself and would like Roosevelt to send one of himself.

Los Angeles City Librarian Charles Fletcher Lummis thanks President Roosevelt for the autograph page and hopes to show him the library’s autograph collection sometime. The library staff took to Secretary of the Interior James Rudolph Garfield, who made friends with members of the Southwest Society during his visit.
