President Roosevelt congratulates Calvin W. Rice on a resolution passed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers which prioritizes conservation. He is pleased with the interest Rice and his fellow engineers are taking in the movement to preserve natural resources.

President Roosevelt sends Minard L. Holman, president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, an invitation to a conference of governors he is hosting on conservation of natural resources. It was suggested to Roosevelt that, in addition to inviting the governors of the various states, that he also invite various national organizations to be involved in the conference to discuss how to conserve the nation’s resources.
