Lucius Nathan Littauer, representative for the state of New York, had a conversation with Senator Edgar Truman Brackett in regards to the New York Republican organization. Brackett will return to Washington with Littauer and requests to have an interview with President Roosevelt to discuss Benjamin B. Odell, Thomas Collier Platt, and the New York Republican organization.

President Roosevelt replies to Samuel W. Marvin’s inquiry on New York Governor Charles Evans Hughes and his position on the drafting of legislation relating to the railroads. Roosevelt gives his opinion on Hughes’ divisive effect within the Republican Party and advises that he will pass along Marvin’s letter to the New York Republican State Committee Chairman, Timothy Lester Woodruff.

Governor Roosevelt informs General Johnson that he and Edith Kermit Carow Roosevelt will most likely be unable to visit him as previously hoped, but that they will seize the opportunity to do so if it presents itself. The Roosevelts also encourage Johnson to visit them at the Executive Mansion in the upcoming winter if they do not see him prior.
