Letter from Thomas Henry Barry to William W. Wotherspoon

General Barry, Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, tells General Wotherspoon that shortly after Wotherspoon left, Theodore Roosevelt visited, and was very interested in Wotherspoon’s upcoming trip to Germany. He asks that Wotherspoon tell Roosevelt some of the details of the trip, and additionally send him a report on airplanes, as Roosevelt expressed some interest in their military uses.

Letter from Thomas P. Jackson to Theodore Roosevelt

Thomas P. Jackson, a representative of the Wright Company, tells Theodore Roosevelt that the airplane ride he took with the recently-deceased Arch Hoxsey was the highlight of Hoxsey’s life, and that he frequently spoke proudly of it. Jackson’s business card is appended to the top of the letter.

Letter from Philip K. Mindil to Theodore Roosevelt

Philip K. Mindil informs Theodore Roosevelt the film of his airplane flight will be shown at William J. Gane’s Manhattan Theatre. Gane invites Roosevelt and company to view the film at the theatre or elsewhere. Duplicate copies of the letter were sent to Sagamore Hill and Roosevelt’s office.
