Edition of the Congressional Record for Monday, January 26, 1959. A description of the Theodore Roosevelt Centennial in 1958 is included on pages A501 and A502 (pages 34 and 35 of this record). The events were considered a “striking success” by their sponsors. The celebration included the dedication of the Theodore Roosevelt Island on the Potomac River as a historic shrine and the Department of Defense also produced a film depicting highlights in Roosevelt’s life.

Act to establish a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt in the National Capital

Act of Congress establishing a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt. The act includes authorization for an island, previously known as Mason’s Island, to be renamed Theodore Roosevelt Island. It states that the Roosevelt Memorial Association, later called the Theodore Roosevelt Association, will have full approval of development of the island and that access be provided to and on the island and that memorial or statue be built.

The document is seemingly copied and notarized by Sembower.
