Letter from Theodore Roosevelt to George Lockhart Rives

President Roosevelt asks George Lockhart Rives for his opinion on Alexander T. Mason, as Mason has been suggested for Immigration Commissioner. Roosevelt wants a “really good man” for the position, and asks if Rives knows of any other men on the Charter or Tenement House Commissions, preferably Republicans, who might be good for the job.
